Reservoirs in the FURNAS System

Usable volume fluctuation over the last 12 months

According to the NSO, changes in the usable volume over the last 12 months are based on the reservoir’s level on the last day of each month, which is measured monthly.

The reservoirs with an asterisk (*) next to their names are run-of-river reservoirs, in other words, they only accumulate enough water to provide daily or weekly controls, or use a river’s water flow to generate power directly. As a result, the stored water volume can fluctuate considerably between one month and the next.
